• Hi there

How do I apply styles to headings, body etc within a page in wordpress ie.

    Main heading (h1)

    Body

    Sub heading (h2)

    Body

I know the answer must be starting right at me but I have looked on the forum and wp docs, plus googled this and can’t find where to do it within the add page / edit page area of wordpress. In other cms’s I have used there is a styles drop down and you can select the relevant copy and then select h1, h2 or what ever from the drop down. I am assuming that with all the other great things that wp can do, it is more advanced than having to do the header tags within html.

I am working with a theme with CSS styles applied.

    Thanks so much in advance.

  • Hi

Have you found the 2nd row of editor buttons? If not, the last button on the right of the 1st row when clicked opens a 2nd row of buttons. One of these is a dropdown that says Format. In this dropdown are Headings 1 through 6, which correlate to H1 – H6. Highlight the text you want to apply the tag to, click the dropdown, and H1 through H6 are assigned.

Yay. Thanks so much. I saw the 2nd row of editor buttons in some tutorial screen dumps but couldn’t figure out how to get it to display.

Sorry I have taken so long to thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my enquiry.
