Append directory names to the end of the post URL (1 post)

    Question:
I am working on a site with custom post types, called 'projects'.
    Here is the permalink "http://example.com/project/example-project/".

I would like to be able to pull append directory names to the end of the post URL, while still returning the same post in the template.

    For example,
    http://example.com/project/example-project/
    http://example.com/project/example-project/2010/
    http://example.com/project/example-project/2010/design/
    http://example.com/project/example-project/2010/design/working/

I am hoping that there is a way that all of these URLs could return the same post ID.
And to be clear, I am not looking for these URLs to merely redirect to the original post.

The directory structure past the original post URL is predictable.

    Any thoughts?
