[resolved] appearing problem in dependencies of two dependent select fields (16 posts)

    Hi,
This is really the best WordPress plugin Ive ever seen.Well at least for me and my website and thank you for that.
however I came across something which looks like a bug to me!?
I know that if a field is in the dependencies of a select field it wouldn't be shown until you select the related choice in select field.
the problem is that if this select field itself is in the dependencies of another select field then the first field appears in the form. However it shouldn't be appeared until you select from the first select field and then select related choice from the second select field.
Sorry for my bad English.I hope it is not confusing and you get me.
    regards.

    Hi,

If possible could you send me the address of a page that contains a form with that issue?

If you prefer you can send the page address in a private ticket at http://wordpress.dwbooster.com/support

Thank you for using the plugin!

    Hi,

I've just made an update that fixes that issue. Please re-download and re-install the plugin to apply the update. You can safety delete the previous plugin and install the new one, the forms won't be lost in the process.

After the update you may have to reload the page or clear the browser cache to be sure that it loads the updated script.

    Thank you for your feedback!

    Hi
    Thank you for your reply
I really appreciate your work and the fast update. It solved the previous problem, but unfortunately it has a bigger problem.
In this update if a field is dependent to several choices of a dropdown, only selecting the first choice causes that field to appear and selecting other choices doesn't show that field.
I removed the update and rolled back to previous version so I cant provide you any example but I guess its just very easy to see this problem. Anyhow let me know if you need it.
    Regards

    Yes, that's it. everything fixed.
I said this is the best WordPress plugin I've ever used. Now I have to say you are the best support too. I really appreciate your work. Thanks a million.
I just have another question about loading the forms on the user side. As the capabilities of this plugin shows, a lot of people may use it to show prices and even sell online. I use it for that reason too. But the price is a changing variable in nature and in my case it changes several times every day. so I have to edit my forms several times a day. Now my concern is that the previous forms may stay in user's browser's cache or ISP cache or maybe host cache if any such thing exist. My question is what's the chances for such problem and what's the solution if any exists? I already added a note to reload with Ctrl+F5 and clear your cache with Ctrl+Shift+Del but I guess many users don't notice such notifications.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,

That's out of the scope of the problem but probably the solution is to add no-cache rules into the ".htaccess" file.

The form data is into the page generated by the WP, so the cache rule should affect specifically the page that contains the form.

    Thank you!

    Hi
Yes that's not related to the topic but thanks for the answer. it seems I have a long way to use those no-cache rules but thank you anyway.

    Hi codepeople
I'm sorry but there seems to be still a problem with dependencies of select fields.
In our very first example if a Field is dependent to some choices of Select Field2 and Select Field2 itself is dependent to some choices of Select Field1 then we will face a problem if Select Field1 has more than 2 right choices.
In other words if we choose the third right choice of Select Field1 it shows Select Field2. But now if we choose the right choice from Select Field2, the next field doesn't appear!
Here is an example on my website:

Thank you in advance for your reply

I am not sure, but I think I came over another bugged case.
I need a good web page right now, so I won't provide an example, but here is what I had :

    Question 1
    - 1.a. If chosen, show question 3
    - 1.b If chosen, show question 3

    Question 2
    - 2.a. If chosen, show something else
    - 2.b If chosen, show question 3

    Question 3
    - 3.a If chosen show question 5

So, if anything in question 1 was chosen, 3 appeared, and then 5 appeared, so everything worked well.
But if 2.b was chosen, 3 appeared, but didn't make 5 appear.

I starts being a very precise bug that may not appear too often, but it is worth checking if it really was a bug, or my mistake.

    Thanks

    Oh.
I correct my own precedent reply.
I thought it was linked to the fact that question 2 was acting different than question 1.
But then I duplicated question 1, and 5 doesn't show... So something else must be the problem.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

I'll need to check your form in detail to test the issue you describe, because the fields definition can determine the way the dependent fields are displayed.

    Best regards.
