    My WordPress Expertise: Novice

Issue: When I try to edit custom CSS through Appearance > Edit CSS I get a blank space below “New to CSS? Start with a beginner’s tutorial…”. I see the Publish and CSS Revisions pane to the right of the screen but clicking any of the previous revisions do not reveal the CSS code.
In short, I seem to have lost the ability to edit Custom CSS when I upgraded to 3.8 WordPress

I tried uninstalling Jetpack and reinstalling the same but I still cannot edit the CSS code.

I need to be able to extract my CSS code I wrote using Appearance > Edit CSS since I will be changing themes… (Or is CSS code independent of the current theme?)

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi Everyone,

I was not able to make the on screen editor work (still blank screen) but I was able to salvage the code I created by right clicking on the screen then Inspect Element. The CSS I wrote was there and I just copied it to a text file.

I hope when I upgrade my theme I will be able to just copy this back to the Appearance > Edit CSS.

    Wish me luck.
