   How can you find your API number if it is not on your profile page?
   I need it to activate the plugin to catch spammers. Any Help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance !

   I'm having the same problem. I've followed the directions and there isn't any API number at all. HELP!

   I've been to http://wordpress.com/api-keys/ over and over. There is NO API on my profile page! What on EARTH am I doing wrong??

   You are failing to READ.

   Seriously, if you just READ THIS PAGE and actually understand it, then you would not have this problem.

   I mean, what part of "When you sign up for a WordPress.com account we will email you an API key." is unclear, exactly? This is not rocket surgery.

   Your actual issue is that you keep looking at YOUR BLOG when you should instead SIGN UP ON WORDPRESS.COM, and look at your profile page ON THAT SITE to get the API key. Then you can plug it in on your own site.

   But what if you are hosting your own wordpress blog on another hosting tool like I am? This is just ridiculous.
