Support » Fixing WordPress » API – Cannot declare; can't log in to wordpress

  • Hi All,

I’m unable to get into my wordpress site at login page.

Before this happened I checked the box on my theme for updates and adding an API I randomly got from Envato. Now, when I try to login to wordpress I receive the following:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Envato_Protected_API in /home/web7day/public_html/adoptoursoldier.com/wp-content/themes/alterna/envato-wordpress-toolkit-library/class-envato-protected-api.php on line 13

Can sonebody please help…I need to get into the site, thanks.

    Richard

  • You’ll need to deactivate that theme – using FTP (or other file manager) by renaming the theme folder – find it here:

    wp-cotent
         themes
             alternaHOLD

That should let you login again. Then you’ll need to ask Envato for help – as commercial themes aren’t supported on these forums.

If you’re not sure how to use FTP, your hosting company should have info on that as it’s specific to your site (not WP).

Thanks for your help. I’ll do that and try another theme and hopefully it is related to the theme itself. I allready have sent them information and maybe they can tell me what I would need to do to unlock the theme through PHP.
