SEO Ultimate
[resolved] Anyway to Disable Only Facebook Opengraph Options (3 posts)

I would like to start using the official Facebook plugin, but it also inserts the Opengraph meta, this causes issues with their debugger. However I would like to keep the SEO Ultimate twitter card implementation. Is it possible to get an option to just disable the opengraph meta tags?

I know I can add a separate Twitter card plugin but Ultimate SEO seems to implement it the cleanest.

Currently, the only option is to disable the module (which would eliminate the twitter card data and all Open Graph data), but we had not intended for using Twitter or Facebook independently (with the ability to toggle either / or) since they are the main two players for now, but Open Graph extends beyond these two giants throughout the web.

If we do develop a feature such as this (which was the intention to beef this up a bit) we would have to do so in a premium version of SEO Ultimate.

I would have to say for now that you can always silence the module and use the Facebook plugin as you suggested, or use the native functionality of SEO Ultimate for adding Open Graph data to images, pages and posts for both Twitter and Facebook.

We may add a few tweaks in the next update for the free version, but at this point we have to monetize as this plugin is feature rich and massive enough to continue developing without charging a premium.

Well I must say I would be willing to pay a few bucks for more fine-grained controls. It would be nice to turn off features within some of the modules that have multiple uses. Looking forward to future updates, this is by far the best SEO plugin out there and it is integrated into WP very well, makes it a cinch to use.
