For those of you who upgraded and everything went smoothly, what did you do? I still have a seriously broken site that is falling in ranking every day that it's broken, and it's all because of 2.6. I did an automatic upgrade, so it's not like I messed up by my actions. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I had no problems, I usually don't. 2.3.1 To 2.5 had some issues (but no broken site), but that was my own error, since I didn't delete the old files. Anyway, this time I tried the WP Automatic Upgrade plugin, which worked like a charm, before I just did the FTP way.

I had no problems either. I upgraded using ftp. Backed up everything first. After copying and overwriting the files I used the upgrade page. No problems, worked like a charm!
No issues on 2 sites. Had to clear cookies, but that's hardly the end of the world. Upgraded manually from shell accounts.

Some updated smoothly but the majority gave errors - all different despite being on the same server running under identical conditions.
So far I have updated 8 blogs and only 2 updated with no problems.
Thanks for the pointers. The problems I've had were my main images disappeared in spite of being on the server (same spot, nothing moved) and that I couldn't log into to wp-admin for posting.
I will do some scheduled postings so that updates will continue even if broken, and try again tonight.
And Edwardfromglos, I feel your pain. Go figure.

I upgraded 17 blogs from 2.5.1 to 2.6 issue free. Not a single problem on any of them.
I've done 6 (so far) without issue.
No really problems on 4 blogs - on 3 blogs I had to retrieve a new login password, but that´s all.
