Anyone using an affiliate cloaking script in wordpress? (7 posts)

    Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of using affiliate cloaking software with wordpress?

I am trying to cloak my affiliate link using 'covertlinks' affiliate link cloaker.

The software has given me the code to upload to my wordpress website as a .php file (these are more secure apparently).

This I have done after pasting it into a MS word file, and saving it as a.php file.

I have copied and pasted the redirect code into the wordpress link box, and saved and refreshed the page.

However, when I click on the link, I am either redirected to a page of my website, with a not found message, or the link doesn't work as some of the redirect code hasn't been transcribed properly within the box (part of it is missing).

Do you know if I need to upload my file to a certain folder on my wordpress site (it has the top-level domain name), or can I just upload it and leave it where it lands up?

I presume the idea is to have my redirect link code (in the link box of my page) link to the .php file on the server, before this redirects the Cloaked affiliate link to the product website?

Many thanks in advance.... I'm perplexed!

    whooami...

Remember not to go to my website!

Seriously though, I'm only trying to make a living, and I don't want people stealing from me after I've done the work!

Youngson: Hidden links can cause your site to be removed from google.

Legitimate site makers do not "hide" their affiliates.

I didnt know that google actually still frowned on hidden text.. aka keyword spamming. I JUST blogged about a WP driven site that is using keyword spamming -- I might just have to report them.

    hmm..

-- and done. Man, Im a bitch. :)
