   I'm a serious newbie and I know nothing at all. Does anyone know what kid of carousel this site uses?

   And could this be achieved by downloading a plug in from the wp dashboard?

   It would take a little modifying to look exactly like the example, but you could achieve this with:

   Thanks for your reply. I managed to replicate it pretty much exactly with this brilliant plugin:
   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/promotion-slider/

   Probably not the right approach but works great. Will investigate your suggestion.
