Anyone know of a good plugin for thumbnails in widget?

I want to just do a widget on the side of the page that has a bunch of little thumbnails that the user can click. When clicked, they’ll open a lightbox with controls to move through the rest of the images.

I know how to do this manually with Shadowbox to do the lightbox functions, but I was wondering if anyone knew of another way where a plugin could manage the photos and create the thumbnails?
