AnyFont needs .htaccess but I am on IIS - options? (5 posts)

    Hi

I bought some server space from a friend and didn't realise he was on IIS. The only problem I noticed with this set up so far was the ugly http://www.site.com/index.php/ permalinks. Don't think there is a solution for that and I am willing to live with it.

The problem I have encountered is this. I want to use Anyfont to have nice typographic post titles etc. but it edits the .htaccess which IIS does not like at all (gives me a 403 error or something).

Had a look around and couldn't find a solution - is there any? Or is there a good alternative to Anyfont that doesn't do this?

    thanks

    b

"Unfortunately AnyFont was never designed with a Windows server in mind as I don’t actually have any windows machines to test on. It probably could work on windows without any major problems, But it will require certain software on the server first in order to work correctly.

Firstly the image links require a .htaccess file to rewrite the links to the php script that generates the image. So at the very least you would need Apache installed over IIS. And secondly having just ImageMagick installed doesnt quite cut it , AnyFont needs the Imagick PHP extension installed as well, otherwise it will just use GD, if GD is installed."
