   Hi there-

   Is there any way to make your blog open for any unregistered person to create a post, much like it was their own blog? I'd like to create a drop down for certain categories and have someone able to make their own post.

   Not within core, but you could achieve the same sort of thing with a plugin. You may have to write one yourself. It'd basically be a user-accessible form that plugs into the posting mechanism.

   Not exactly what you asked for, but a plugin to look at is TDO Mini Forms. This can let people submit a post from the front-end of your site, without getting into the backend screens.
