Hello I've posted in the appropriate forums about the plugin but no one seems to know the answer to this.

I'm using the SEO plugin by Yoast. I had opted to strip the word category from my categories because I thought it looked nicer. Well with the new release of WP, it's not working (for lots of people) so the only way for my site to work is to put the word category back in so I had to uncheck the option...and now the word category is there.

1.) First, does that screw stuff up stuff for SEO purposes. I'm pretty new at this and am concerned.

2.) For all of my old posts where I referenced a category that had the category base stripped do I now have to go back and manually re do all the links because they will point to no where?

And if I have to redo them all which I am thinking I probably have to- is there any type of tool or plugin out there than can help me determine what links are not working.

    Thanks for the help

  2. 1) I really don't think that it matters much. The quality of your content is much more important.

    2) You could try the broken link checker plugin - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/broken-link-checker/

Thanks. Makes me feel a bit better. I'm scared to see what the broken link checker will find...lol
