• I’m hosting my site at Freehostia.com, and with their free plan they offer no outgoing e-mail service. Therefor I cannot get any of the Contact Forms to send.

Is there any way to work around this, other than the obvious hosting upgrade or change? I’ve tried finding a plugin that stores contact form entries locally, with no luck.

Thanks for all help. Please note that I’m somewhat technically challenged, and tried searching for a solution as best I could.

    Melkemannen.

I’ve seen many folks in the same situation just create a page called “Contact” and leave the comments open.

Thanks for the reply, James. Thought about something like that, but would like to keep it more professional-looking/private. Just wanted to make sure I checked all possibilities before upgrading my account or switching host.

Which leads me to another question:
I know some free hosting-providers have outgoing mail-servers available, but I don’t know which are good for WordPress. Anyone got a good tip for free hosting that fills WP needs?

    Thanks,
    Melkemannen.

We generally don’t recommend free hosting providers as they often offer crippled servers that prevent WordPress from running properly.

Basically, if you want a reliable free blog, use wordpress.com. If you want a reliable self-hosted blog, you should probably pay for hosting.
