Any chance of a commercial version with UI support? (9 posts)

Hi Scribu, first off thank you for this wonderfull and free plugin!

I was wondering if you are considering making a commercial (premium) version of p2p at some point? I love the possibilities of this plugin, but lack the coding knowledge to use it to it's full potential. I'll gladly pay for a premium version, where I can take full control of it's possibilities via the WordPress GUI. I can imagine more people in my situation, and potentially a lot of demand :)

    Greets,
    Richard

Ok, so you mean GUI for defining connection types.

I'm not interested in this, at the moment, but there was someone that wanted to work on this a while ago:

Hi scribu, I am developing a UI to p2p plugin. I alredy have a functional plugin. It's working nice!
I just need the complete list of args for the "p2p_register_connection_type" function.
I got some args from the wiki (https://github.com/scribu/wp-posts-to-posts/wiki/) and from the code (https://github.com/scribu/wp-posts-to-posts/blob/master/core/api.php).
    Are there other args ?
Can you provide a code example with all args ?

    Thank you.

All top-level args are mentioned in https://github.com/scribu/wp-posts-to-posts/blob/master/core/api.php.

For nested args, see admin/box-factory.php, admin/column-factory.php and admin/dropdown-factory.php.

@tiagoalves83 are you building the UI as a free plugin or a commercial one? Any chance you want to share what you have so far?

@mikkelbreum, I have the plugin done ( I am not using all the post to post setting). It is using another plugin: Advanced Custom Fields (with Repeater Field USD 25.00). I tried to publish at the wordpress.org, but I made something wrong at the readme.txt and my script was not accepted (My first plugin). After that, I did not try again.

Still sounds promising. Especially the combination with advanced custom fields.
You developed a plugin and don't publish it cause the readme needs to be changed? If you like to, I'll write some books in your readme, to get this plugin.

I think a plugin like this should not depend on another plugin, especially not a paid one. There's another go by Adam Michael Wood on github. My fork is here: https://github.com/mikkelbreum/p2p_ui . I'll add support for more P2P options in the coming iterations.

Right now my fork is identical to the one found at the original repo of adammichaelwood.

@ tiagoalves83 Thanks for sharing. If you want to put your plugin on github, I can have a look at it. I'm already working on a fork of another p2p ui plugin from Adam Michael Wood, maybe I can merge some stuff. I'd want to take out dependence on Advanced Custom Fields though. I think plugins should be selfcontained unless they actually plug in to another plugin to extend that plugins functionality. p2p ui would depend on scribu's p2p plugin of course. If you'd rather just mail it to me, feel free, then I might merge it with the other one I'm working on.
