A site I'm building has been ticking along nicely, various plugins added and removed, template changes, etc. Looking to add a bit more functionality, I uploaded zip files for WP Contact Form III (which I've used on other sites), History Timeline and WP Contact Manager. The first two needed upgrading.
I then got the "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." message when trying to change the settings on the first two (the third has its own menu, not under Settings).
As a test, I deactivated then reactivated everything, changed themes, no joy. So: I uploaded WP Lynx - as a test - from the plugin directory, and find I can access its Settings page. If I do the same for WP Contact Form III though, I still can't.
That suggests a setting somewhere for that plugin has got corrupted somehow, but I wouldn't know where to start looking and changing. Any ideas? I quite like that contact form plugin :->
