Another wp-cron problem

    Hello, i run wordpress 2.9.2 and i have a problem. When i create new post automaticly server start to run wp-cron and the server get stuck creating too many index.php processes. this problem appears only when i try to create posts after 1 pm when i have more traffic. i am hosted by hostgator. Is there any way to stop this? Maybe to remove wp-cron.php ?
