• Sick & Wicked is running beautifully in WordPress, converted over from Movable Type 2.661.
I installed several hacks and plugins. I am using Jaykul’s header image generator plugin to generate .pngs for the dates; Laughing Lizard’s one-click backup hack (really useful) and comment preview hack; and my template is a modified version of Root’s two-column template. The latter in particular has been very useful for someone still learning CSS. It really streamlined the process of sorting out the stylesheets.
I ran into a few snags on the import, but worked them out. It still amazes me that I had it up and running in about 24 hours, maybe a little less. The more I work with WP, the better I like it.
I also have another WP weblog called Brodylicious, which is a group blog (though the rest of the group is slacking) for my girlfriends who have crushes on Adrien Brody. 🙂 That was a little harder to struggle through the style because I didn’t have Root’s template as a starting place, and I might tweak it some more, but it’s looking pretty good. I also have yet another weblog that I’ll link later this week, I think, when I have the “official” grand opening (have to buy a domain for it). I don’t even need to refer to the directions any more to set up a WP weblog!
When I decided it was time to move on from MT, I chose WordPress because of the dynamic, helpful, friendly development community. Thanks for the help and for putting up with my idiot n00bie questions and posting errors on the forum. I’m really glad to be here.
