Currently running 3.1 because my host, a major Japanese company, cannot be bothered to update their specs. Moreover, despite a serious lack of support, I managed to get my site up and running (no mean feat). However, when I tried to update some of my out-of-date plugs-ins, I got the following message.
"An error occurred while updating Akismet: Download failed. Could not create Temporary file."
Does this mean that I have to get back into my hosting control panel in order to change the settings? A direct but rather simple answer would be appreciated.
