Annual Posts plugin: Why the HECK has it not been done yet?

Everybody on the planet could benefit from a plugin that hides a post from view all year and then makes the post pop up on a certain day of the year for people to comment on. After the day is over, it deletes (or moves) the comments and hides the post until next year. Daily-, weekly-, bi-weekly-, and monthly- repeating posts would be necessary for other people, too.

This would be the best calendar ever– one that does not waste sidebar space, has automatic, commentable posts, deletes last year’s posts, hides itself when the event is not here, and repeats itself every year. And because of its post integration, it will be able to support everything posts support, like thumbnails.

Please, I have spent many, many months trying to find a good calendar. I hardly have money enough for my internet service, so I can’t pay anyone. Please, someone help me to help this plugin get started.
