Edge Suite
[resolved] Animation not using location (3 posts)

I really like the fact that your plug-in enables me to add Edge Animate projects to my site and eventually my clients site. However, I am having an issue with positioning the plugin as my header.

I am using WP 3.5.1 with the blueprint framework. My site is a child theme of twentyeleven. Until I get this resolved, I have custom, random headers and the tagline is included.

Now to the issue: When I place the snippet in my header.php file, the animation is located at the top left corner of the page, until I add [edge_animate id="2"] within the page editing. Then it appears in the correct position but still not in the header. When I remove the custom header settings and the tagline, then my site has no header at all.

If you look at twcarter.com, you can see that the Home page & the Image Demonstrations page have the animation in the specified page edit location. But if you go to any other page you will see the animation as it is placed by the template code.

Very confusing, but I will bet you have an answer...

Thanks very much for any assistance you can provide. I look forward to using this in the future.

    Hi,
when the animation shows up in the upper left corner it usually means Animate couldn't find the stage div and it just puts the whole animation directly in the body. My best guess would be that you put the PHP snippet in your template file within a conditional statement which is being reached. Just try printing something else like <?php print 'test'; ?> and see if it comes up. If it doesn't place the snippet somewhere else, if it does then please check the linked tutorial from the plugin page for possible mistakes during setup.
