• It’s perfect for a blog I’m running, but the plugin site always seems to be down. If someone could link me to where I could get it I’d be very thankful!

  • i am not so sure about the plugin being down, but i was looking for something of the same, and i found out it is no longer FREE. you have to pay for it. so, i just made a link from my clients webpage to GOOGLE TRANSLATOR.

this works great and best of all, it supports many more translations than Angsuman ….

again, it is NO LONGER FREE!!

samboll, thanks, but that’s what I was talking about, site has been down all week.

cre8tive, I don’t mind paying, where did you find it?

The site is up for me. You have to go here:
    http://blog.taragana.com/index.php/archive/angsumans-translator-plugin-pro-for-wordpress-blogs-released/#software
And fill out the form to get it by email.

It times out for me, too.

sam, what browser are you using?

    FF 1.5.0.7
    Still getting through.

A TRULY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE!!! WORST $30 EVER SPENT!!! … some languages do not work at all.
in my case ( http://ferenc.biz ) Arabic and Norwegian does not work – so they were removed.

so much trouble with Google translation that I had to switch over to BabelFish due to getting a 403 Forbidden error for all translated pages from Google.
Google viewed my frequent translation requests as spam but setting the Translator Cache to 12 hrs still has not fixed the issue.

the plugin is $30 per blog!!!! PER BLOG!!! BE AWARE!!!!
    additional plugins are $25.

the next version will include up to 32 languages per the manufacturer – http://blog.taragana.com – but that just sounds like more headache.

I think they are pushing a product which is NOT finished and NOT ready to be released yet.

a japanese friend of mine laughed her ass off at the translation. it is not even close to conversational level not to mention professional.

I have been feeling like a spammer generating this sea of garbage content just to increase the size of my blog.
for now I am removing it completely from my site until it becomes more reliable … not holding my breath.

i paid for this plug in on the 23rd, May 2007. they never delivered, and have not responded to an email with paypal receipt enclosed. anyone else with a “no delivery” problem? this thread is scary.

They should. I mean laugh. No machine translation (be it G or babelfish, whatever) will come even close to the worst human translator. I would never rely on machine translations for my site beyond some basic info: i.e. getting the idea whether it is about gardening or investing 🙂 Beyond that every machine translation is useless.

All that said, earlier this year I have found a very clever little gizmo for translation – see my post about it:
    http://crosscultural.transycan.net/blog/archives/2007/02/24/translation-tool/

Actually, there is lots of google translator modules for Joomla CMS.

But I hardly find one for WordPress. Is it so hard to develop them?
