    this is my Apache httpd.conf file:

    # prefork MPM
    # StartServers: number of server processes to start
    # MinSpareServers: minimum number of server processes which are kept spare
    # MaxSpareServers: maximum number of server processes which are kept spare
    # ServerLimit: maximum value for MaxClients for the lifetime of the server
    # MaxClients: maximum number of server processes allowed to start
    # MaxRequestsPerChild: maximum number of requests a server process serves
    <IfModule prefork.c>
    StartServers       8
    MinSpareServers    5
    MaxSpareServers   20
    ServerLimit      256
    MaxClients       256
    MaxRequestsPerChild  4000
    </IfModule>

    NOT a wordpress issue.

    From what I can find:

    "exit signal Segmentation fault (11)"

    Means you have too many unused modules enabled in Apache.

    "server reached MaxClients setting, consider raising the MaxClients setting"

    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/prefork.html Will tell you how to adjust your prefork settings and such.

    All of these were found via Google. I'm sure you can find more.

    I can't suggest any - it all depends on what you need to run. What *I* need is probably different than what *you* need. If you go to the Apache website and search for "modules" it'll explain what each of them are.

    And yes, you have to edit the httpd.conf file. You simply comment out whatever you don't need with a hashmark (#).
