Here is a mystery. I started up a new weblog last week, using the latest version of wordpress. I installed it and chose a theme and wrote my welcome-to-the-world message. After that I figured out there was something wrong. I wanted to upload some pictures, but couldn’t find the uploading tool in wordpress. As in: there is no field to which says ” upload” or field to look at my database of already oploaded pictures at the bottom of my concept-message. When I tried at the office today it showed just fine, so it could be a computer bound(?!) problem. Does anyone know this problem? Or better still: Does anyone know how to solve it?

  • My money is on you’re using some sort of advert blocker for your browser. Try turning it off. Most of them block iframes which teh uploader is.

drmike, I’m sorry to say you’ve just lost your money. I went as far as de-installing IE7 (with the anti-phishing and blocking functions) and went back to IE6 which allways functioned in the past (and in the office, by the way). Sad to say, it didn’t do the trick.

I think this bug has something to do with wp2.1 intself. After my last entry I surfed the other support pages and found an entry with a similar problem. After following their suggestion (press Ctrl-F5 several times) the wp upload feature suddenly appeared. It beats me why, but it works. Reading further in the support pages I read that this bug is known to appear once in a while and will probably be addressed in a future update.
