Hi:
I've still got a few minor issues to resolve and one of them is an annoying( to me), distracting bridge connecting the post body with the sidebar near the top of the page. How can I either change this to the same color as the page body, rendering it "invisible" or otherwise eliminate it?

That "bridge" is your footer and it's supposed to down at the bottom of your page. Perhaps if you sorted out some of the validation errors on your site, your footer would return to its proper place.

Hi:
I have a lot of validation errors and one of the most annoying is the footer of my theme which is misplaced behind the upper part of the body for posts and some advertising on the side bar. Where do I find this error and how can I correct this so the footer will return to its correct location? I would appreciate your advice.
