One thing I thought was missing from the start of using wordpress was how links are added to a page or post. When a link is added a box pops up and you have to go to the page you want to link to copy the URL and paste it in the link box. Is it possible to have this box show a list of all pages in your wordpress site, so it would be easy to link to a page within the site?
Maybe there is a hack, plug-in or modification for this, if so please let me know.
Thank you.
As the link box is for ALL links all over the entire interwebs, no, that wouldn't be practical. And when you get a few thousand pages/posts? Ick.
That said a 'link to post' plugin might be what you want, but I don't know if anyone's made that yet.
Yes, there are a couple if internal linking plugins in the repo.
I want to know how to place a "link" in a post that I am writing that will direct the reader to another website. Is that possible?
yes
type some text like 'visit this site'
highlight the text
click the link button, looks like a chain
box pops up for you to add your link
