    Does anyone have a fix for getting ampersands to work correctly in the responsive menu? They work fine in the full-screen menu, but they butt up against the next word in the title where they’re used; e.g., instead of displaying as “Blog & other posts” in the responsive menu, they display as follows:

    Blog &other posts

    I’ve tried changing the ampersand in the menu title to:

    &-a-m-p-;
    &-#-0-3-8-;
    &-#-3-8-;

    (strip out the hyphens)

    but the core functionality strips out the extra code when saving the menu. I’d really like to continue to use the ampersand instead of spelling out “and,” but I’m not sure if there is a workaround for this.

    Cheers,

    Jan C.

    Hi Jan,

    Do you have a link to your site so I can check this please?

    I have tried setting my title to “Blog & other post” on my development sites and it displays fine for me.

    It shouldn’t strip out any & symbols as they are simple parts of a string.

    Many thanks

    Thanks for getting back to me, Peter.

    It’s a dev site and the url is http://www.usabledocs.com/ultpoolcare/ . The menu items in question are in the submenus.

    Please note that I’ve only set up minimal css for the Responsive menu, but it does display in screen widths under 980px so that you can see what I mean.

    Cheers,

    Jan

    Hey Jan,

    Thanks for pointing this out for me!

    I hadn’t noticed this little issue before.

    I have updated the code for the 1.9 version as I didn’t think it warranted a full new version release.

    As such, if you delete the plug-in and re-install it again, it should fix this issue for you.

    Please let me know how you get n and don’t worry, all your settings will be saved!

    Many thanks

    Thanks, Peter!

    Given what you’ve written, I’m assuming by “delete the plugin,” you mean just delete it via ftp, then reupload the plugin via ftp without deactivating and deleting it via the plugins dashboard.

    Or do you indeed mean via the dashboard?

    Please correct me if I’m mistaken.

    Cheers,

    Jan C.

    Hi Jan,

    It’s best you do it all from the WordPress dashboard, de-activate and then remove, this way WordPress will download the latest version for you when you re-install.

    Please let me know if you get any issues with this

    Many thanks

    Thanks for the clarification, Peter! Deletion and replacement is now complete, and the ampersands appear to be displaying properly now.

    GREAT PLUGIN!
