I have a jpg logo and a png logo that I would like to add to the footer. Both are listed in the Media Library. How can I upload / copy across from Media Library to the footer?

Hi ppines,
I also answered your question about customizing your header. One thing I want to make sure is mentioned, is using a Child Theme when making customizations to your theme files. Please make sure you're working with a Child Theme so that any future theme updates do not overwrite your changes.
If you want to add the logos as background images in your footer, you could simply add them to your style sheet as background images for your footer. I recommend using the Firebug extension with either Firefox or Chrome to help identify the CSS you will want to change.
There are also lots of themes that allow you to easily customize your header and/or footer. One great example is the Constructor theme:
