[resolved] Am I able to separate the blog roll by categories on pages? (3 posts)

I'm putting together a demo site on my local drive for my church.

I hope to have less tech savvy people post content updates. Preferably using the posts option and not going through pages. Is it possible to have the blog roll split by category on multiple pages? (and if so, how?)

Thanks for your help on the topic. You guys are always awesome.

The term 'blogroll' in WP generally means a list of links to external sites. I am guessing what you mean is your blog posts split by category.

The Blog In Blog plugin will let you assign different pages to different categories.

If you don't want to require your users to assign the correct category, then you can use the Custom Post Type UI plugin to create a custom post type for each different class of content.

For example, you could create a type 'Sermons' and the Dashboard will show an option for 'Sermons' with sub-options for 'All Sermons', 'Add Sermon', etc.

Then you add a menu choice on either the main menu or in the sidebar to view the Sermons.
