My backup has been working now for over 9 hours (is this normal? Seems very slow...). Anyway, it updates me with a new timestamp frequently, but it always says, "Approximately 0% complete."
It would be nice to know how close it is to finishing... Any solution to this?

This is not normal.
Are you getting any errors in your PHP error logs?

Where are my PHP error logs? Do you mean the plugin's backup logs? If so, it just keeps saying:
14:42:55 : Backing up WordPress path at (/home/www/simplythreetrio.com/).
14:38:13 : There has been no backup activity for a long time. Attempting to resume the backup.
It finally finished backing up, by the way.. 10 hours total..

The location of you logs and how to view them varies from host to host.
A quick google search should point you in the right direction.

My error logging was turned off. I just turned it on. The plugin will backup again tonight, so I'll let you know what happens tomorrow.

Strange...This time it only took 35 minutes, and the percentages showed properly. Maybe it just had to get broken in?
