Already installed & e-mail adress (6 posts)

    I do know there are a lot of posts asking about this, and I went though them but didn't find an answer. My deal is, I had WP installed on my server a while ago. I decided to get rid of it and deleted it - but the folders "wordpress > wp-content > plugins > flickrrss" stayed in my server. However, I changed the name of the wordpress folder. Now I re-installed WP, and when I go to wp-admin/install.php I get this:

    '.__('Already Installed').'

    '.__('You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.').'
    ');} switch($step) { case 0: case 1: // in case people are directly linking to this display_header(); ?>

    ReadMe documentation at your leisure. Otherwise, just fill in the information below and you\'ll be on your way to using the most extendable and powerful personal publishing platform in the world.'), '../readme.html'); ?>

    ...and some other ramble. I went to phpMyAdmin through my server and deleted all the old WP files from my database but it still gives me the text above. At first I tried to access wp-admin/install.php directly from my computer, and the address was file:///C:/Users/Sofi/Desktop/wp/wp-admin/install.php?step=2. I then changed it to http://www.xmeow.com/wp/wp-admin/install.php?step=2 (don't know why it's step=2, it goes there automatically) and it just tells me this:

    ERROR: you must provide an e-mail address.

    I don't know why this is happening, and since I emptied the phpMyAdmin database of WP files, and from http://www.xmeow.com/wp/wp-admin/install.php?step=2 it tells me I must provide an e-mail adress, I really don't know what I'm supposed to do. I've checked wp-config and phpMyAdmin multiple times. The WP I re-installed is 2.7.1, and I'm not sure which version of WP the previous one was.

    Anyone know how to help?

    I think so, how can I check? And as said, I used to have WP before on the same domain & server.

    goto http://www.xmeow.com/wp/wp-admin/install.php and fill in the initial admin credentials, that should make the installation scripts happy.
