Allowing users to a controled set of categories

    There has been MANY support questions regarding this topic, (users/category managment). And although “Limit Category 1.1” plugin seem to be the most promising, it only works for wp 1.5.

    Anybody got ANYWHERE with this topic?

    Need to give a bit more details about what you mean by “category restriction”… Restrict access to categories? remove some categories from display? In the loop? In the sidebar? The more precise the question, the more likely someone is to actually be able to answer it.

    Fair enough, here it is.

    I would like to create role X such that:
    1: X can view/comment/not-edit on all posts within all categories.
    2: X can post only to ONE category.

    I thought the best way to do it, is to somehow, make my default role able to create new posts within only one catagory “call it, public”.

    Okay!, so there is a limit category v 1.5.2 which should work on wp2. However, it does crash at php5!.

    yeah, php5 compliance is a bit hit or miss, sorry 🙁

    YOP YOP, downgraded to php4, and catlimits.php works like a charm!.
