    How to allow to Editor capability edit_theme_options at WPMU blogs?

    Add the following script to a file in your "mu-plugins" folder and the change will affect every user as editor on every site in your network.

    <?php
    $role = get_role('editor');
    $role->add_cap('edit_theme_options');
    ?>
  3. Generally not a good idea, though. Which options do they need to get into?

    It's to me?

  5. I have no idea what you're asking now.

    I wanted to know what options your EDITORS need to get access to, that makes you want to give them access to all theme options.

    Sorry my English.
    I'm talk about this options
    # Appearance > Background
    # Appearance > Header

  7. Thanks :)

    The problem with David's solution is that by doing that, you give them access to MORE than just those two things. They get will get access to widgets.

    See http://wordpress.org/support/topic/making-certain-admin-rolesdashboard-menu-items-accessible-to-editors?replies=16 for some discussion on this.

  8. @mazzy fix the theme you;re using, and contact the theme author.

    It;s the theme setting that cap on those options.

    If I want my users to be able to access their theme options, menus and widgets regardless what theme they're using, is this indeed the fix for it? (Assuming they have the editor role?)

    @AMEEKER: You'd be better off looking at a role or capability manager (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/capability) instead. These would allow you to modify the Editor role (or any role) to give or take away capabilities, including the ability to modify themes and theme options.

    I added the Members plugin and added "edit-theme-options" to editors, but it didn't add back the theme options under the appearance menu.

    You may also need to add switch_themes, edit_themes and install_themes to give Editors the same level of access to themes as Administrators have.

    Take a look at http://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities#switch_themes for more.
