Allow for comments on individual photos, not just a collection (7 posts)

I placed some photos on my wordpress site and I'd like to allow users to comment on individual photos. I have about 100 or so photos that I can put in a page or a post.

I'd like to allow the user to click a link "comment on this particular photo" under each photo, so I can see their comments for an individual photo not just the collection.

    How can I achieve this?

When uploading the photos you should use (should have used?) Linked to Page option - that would display them in an attachment file where they can comment.

I'm sorry where would i find this option? I have yet to upload the pictures (which I expected to do via FTP).

    Thanks!

... and I expected that you are uploading the images via the WP Write Post upload interface: there is where you have this option.
I don't think it would work via FTP, though.

What is the suggested method when uploading say 100 photos? This would seem very labor intensive when there are lots of photos.

I agree, WP's own upload system wasn't design for that kind of bulk upload.

Of course, you can always upload them via FTP - just the method I mentioned first wouldn't work.

The decision is yours: what is more important? Letting visitors to comment on every picture or ease of upload.

Alternatively, you may want to look into some photogallery plugins or "extensions". Some might have the comment function. I don't use any of them so I can't really advise you, sorry.
