I had the same issue!
I fixed it by going into my “permalink” settings, and not changing anything…but just clicking “save”,
Worked fine for me!
That doesn’t make any sense to me! Probably not to you, either. Well, I see nothing in the Permalinks settings that has to do with allowing comments, but, at your suggestion, I went there and clicked Save Settings.
Let’s see if it helps! (This is so frustrating…)

I’m wondering why no moderator has commented on this… Does WP know about this issue?
Well, after two weeks it’s back to doing the same thing. This SUCKS!

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP?!
Every day I change my setting so that people don’t have to be logged in and registered to leave a comment. Within a few days, that box is automatically rechecked.
Also, I want people to be able to comment, but on every blog post I have,I have selected to allow comments. Within a few days, my entire history of posts has that box UNchecked.
IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME WITH THIS AND TELL ME WHY THESE SETTING KEEP BEING RESET?
