Support » Fixing WordPress » All sorts of Problems…..

  • Ok, I stumbled into being a webmaster for a site that was created with wordpress. There is a lot of code on top to create a nice front page. There is also some other CMS tools added like plogger for image management. My problem is that I’m not a real strong html/php person.

The people who run the site would like a password protected page that members can log-in then upload/download documents
    That’s problem number one.

Problem two is that all of the links built into the page are not relative to the root directory. Meaning that if I create a test server it always wants to point back to the web because all of the links are http:\\ and not /

Where do I start…. I’m afraid to upgrade to a new version of wordpress. Should I change from wordpress to a different CMS like drupal to get the password and file management or should I just install a drupal like system in a subdirectoy. Opinions and suggestions welcome. If anyone is interested in taking a look at the site it’s here
