All roles not displaying???

    I moved a site to WP Engine and all of the roles for the 395 users were removed. I’m trying to go in and change each users role but all of the roles aren’t available within their Profile.

    Before the move the roles that were available were:

    • Author
    • Administrator
    • Contributor
    • Editor
    • Event Contributor
    • Faculty_Admin
    • Student
    • Subscriber
    • ppa

    Now only these are available:

    • Event Contributor
    • Student
    • Subscriber

    What can I do to have all of the user roles as options? (I’m logged in as the admin user with Super Admin capabilities.)

    Hi integritydesigns,
    Sorry for delay. You can recreate the list of Roles Manually.
    Go to Access Manage page and under Role Manager add all your roles. You also should specify the set of capabilities (you can use predefined list of capabilities like – Editor, Author, Subscriber or Contributor).

    The roles are there under Role Manager but they don’t show up under ‘Role’ in the Edit User page. Why is this happening?

    Oh. Check if your user has all 10 Levels checked. Go to Capabilities tab and verify that.

    Yeah, the admin role has all levels checked under Capabilities. Would it help if I emailed the login info?

    The issue was in the wp_options table of our database. We had to change the user_roles line to read ‘user_roles’ instead of ‘wp_databasenameuser_roles’ (no quotes). Changing this made the other roles appear in the Role section of the Edit User page.
