• Hi. My site is http://www.seeingforests.com. I have a simple permalink structure customized to /%postname% only. A post like http://www.seeingforests.com/contextual-content goes to a page that lists all of my most recent posts, similar to the “Homepage”, not the specific post I want. I have chmod 666 on .htaccess, I’ve tried to put in /index.php, I’ve tried putting an optional /topic and /category; in short, I think I’ve tried everything that I could find by searching through forums and on the web. Am I just missing something? Is this just supposed to be how it works, is it because of the theme I’m using (cutline-3-column-split-11)? Is it because I’m too old and lazy to dig into the php code? What?

    Thanks!

  • Try to use a copy of the theme that is NOT edited by you + set the permalinks to the default. Does it work?

I changed the theme only and it works so the answer I presume is in the theme. Is it common practice to just hack a theme or go back to the originator of the theme? Any ideas as to where I should look in a theme to fix this?

Also, thank you for the help. Much appreciated.
