All of my links are broken (3 posts)

    Hello,

Today I managed to break ALL of my links, somehow. I can't even log into wordpress anymore....

This is how the problem arose: I was trying to figure out how to change my wordpress site-- salinatrevino.com/wordpress -- into simply salinatrevino.com. My domain is hosted by hostmonster.com, so I logged in and found my files there... I moved the files out of the "wordpress" folder straight into the public html folder, thinking that I could simply delete the subfolder "wordpress" and it would then become salinatrevino.com. The site was pretty broken as a result... It was at this point, I believe, that I could no longer access my admin login page, because the link was broken. So then, instead of putting the files back into the wordpress folder, I accidently DELETED the files altogether from the public html folder on hostmonster... and there was no way to undo it.

I thought that maybe my files would still exist somewhere in my wordpress manager, however I can no longer log in at all. I fear that my whole site has been lost... Does anyone know of a way I could get my files back/ find them located somewhere else? Or how come my login page is broken?

I'll answer any questions if my problem is at all unclear. Thank you in advance for your insight and assistance.

    Sincerely,
    Salina

Most of your content is stored in the MySQL database, so you didn't lose everything.

First, Download WordPress again and upload all of the files to the public html directory.

Then, access your database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel) and follow this guide to change the siteurl and home values to http://salinatrevino.com

Thank you for the help! And for replying so quickly.
I've tried to make sense of my site, through your directions, but somehow it still hasn't fit back together... I'll start over and be more careful next time.
    Sincere thanks.
