All media attached to post (ie. [gallery])

    My page uses the absolute default gallery shortcode [gallery]. I don’t specify specific IDs. By default, this lists all images attached to that post. This works fine.
    I changed my shortcode to gss: [gallery] to [gss] and the gallery code loads onto the page, but no images.
    Is there a way to use [gss] without specifying IDs to include?
