[resolved] All links are gone from the posts (11 posts)

    Hi Guys,

I have a very big problem: the links are gone from my posts. Just gone. From all existing ones and if I try to write a new post and put a link in it, WordPress doesn't show it. Everything is fine in the editor but when I publish the post they are gone.

What can I do about this?

So, to make things a little clearer:

    - I'm using the latest version of WordPress.
    - I'm using Arras 1.5.1.2 as Theme

    - Cleared the cache and cookies from the Browser, didn't help.
    - Tried other Browsers, didn't help.
    - Tried another Theme, didn't help.
    - Deactivated all Plugins, didn't help.

And it's not a the_excerpt/the_content-thing either. Because the links are not only gone from the start page but also from the posts itself. And its the same with regular pages.

I'm going crazy! Please, someone must have the answer.....

    Greetings, Kaan

PS: To the best of my knowledge I didn't change a thing.

    Have you tried:

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    - I switched to Twenty Eleven, doesn't work.
    - I've deleted all Plugins that I don't need, doesn't work.

I will try re-uploading wp-admin and wp-includes if no one has another answer.

I've deleted all Plugins that I don't need

No - that wasn't what was suggested. Please read & follow the suggestions posted above. They are part of the basic WordPress troubleshooting process and are all temporary and reversible. But if you cannot work with us, then we cannot help you.

I already said it my first post:

    Deactivated all Plugins, didn't help.

The link that was given to me directed me to do something I already did and didn't work the first time. Why should it work now?

    Because you also wrote:

I've deleted all Plugins that I don't need, doesn't work.

And what about the other steps?

In my desperate attempt I did both. First deactivating all Plugins but that didn't work. And then I deleted all Plugins that were inactive but I didn't need. Because I thought maybe an inactive Plugin was causing this.

I switched to Twenty Eleven and it didn't work. It's the same.

The only thing I didn't try so far is re-uploading wp-admin and wp-includes because I'm pretty cautious about this stuff.

You need to try this too. It will not affect your site's content. And what about resetting the plugins folder?

    I just did it. Re-uploaded wp-admin and wp-includes from a fresh WordPress. Didn't help.

I don't understand what you mean exactly with reseting the plugins folder. The link didn't help me.

Btw: English is not my mother language. So don't think I'm lazy when I say I don't understand something. ;)

Please see the Codex page at the link I gave a few posts back. That will explain it all.

    No need for it.

I made such a rookie mistake that I'm embarrassed to talk about. :D

    It is resolved.

    Thank you Guys!
