I had a worpress blog blog.ancheril.net. I have installed All in ome seo plugin. I had to shift the server. I have copied the files and restored the database. But SEO friendly URLs are not working now. Any idea about it ?

make sure you have your .htaccess file in place
Its there. but only few lines of code in it
use this code for the whole .htaccess file
ErrorDocument 404 /index.php?error=404
# BEGIN WPSuperCache
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} !POST

has some extra stuff in it that shouldnt hurt.
my .htaccess file was
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
I had replaced with the one you have given me. but no use.
I am using windows server with IIS. Will it be an issue ?
Oh did you go from Linux/Unix server to Windows? If so ModRewrite wont work with IIS. There are some fixes out there but they arent the easiest to implement.
I think we can use web.config to do the same thing.
eg:
<rewrite>
<!--This directive was not converted because it is not supported by IIS: RewriteBase /.-->
<rules>
<rule name="Imported Rule 1" stopProcessing="true">
<match url="." ignoreCase="false" />
<conditions>
<!--# BEGIN WordPress-->
<add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" ignoreCase="false" negate="true" />
<add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsDirectory" ignoreCase="false" negate="true" />
</conditions>
<action type="Rewrite" url="/index.php" />
</rule>
</rules>
</rewrite>
