• Hello,

I’ve installed the plugin. I’ve installed the default English language + Spanish. After installing the plugin I see the switcher menu on the top of the dashboard but, when I select Spanish nothing changes, all remain in English.

Strange thing is that it partially worked for a few hours, showing only some parts of the dashboard in Spanish, but now it’s back to full english.

Also, in the front end some system features are now in Spanish, like “read more” etc.

Could you please advise on this?

    Thank you
    Paolo

Sounds for me like if you have a bunch of problems:

    A) Some caching plugin active that caches the admin interface.

    B) Your theme that doesn’t properly translate. There’s – for every single translation function – a last argument that’s the textdomain. This textdomain is used to translate the theme – and nothing else. If it is missing, it will search those strings in the default domain, which ships with WordPress core. If it finds it, it translates the string. “read more” is such string that is used by core.

Please turn off your caching plugin (or flush your cache). Then try again. If this doesn’t work, turn off all your plugins (but not the language switcher), switch back to one of the default themes and try again. If it works, turn on one plugin, try again, turn on the next plugin, try again until you find the plugin causing this issue. Turn on your theme last. Then please come back and tell us the name of this plugin and give us a link. Thanks.

Hi and thank you for your reply.

I’ve deactivated all installed plugins but User Language Switcher, I’ve cleared the cache and tried to switch to Spanish, nothing. I’ve also tried to open the dashboard on a different browser, same.

    Any clues?

    thank you
    Paolo

    Hi paquito,

sorry for not following up. Free support for free software often depends on available free time 🙂

Do you still use the plugin and does the problem still remain?
