Hi, All In One WP Security & Firewall sounds like a pretty comprehensive plugin with a lot of features that could potentially replace a number of other plugins but I'm wondering how it compares to the other plugins and if it's really as good as using a combination of the other plugins?

For example, All In One WP Security & Firewall appears to contain the same functionaility as a combination of:
    Wordfence
    WordPress Firewall 2
    Bulletproof Security, etc

Can it really be used as a replacement for these and is it as good as them?

Does it do any kind of file monitoring and alert if files have changed?

    Many thanks,
    Benz1

Hi Benz1, Its a free plugin so I would recommend that you use the plugin on your site and decide if you like it or not. If you don't like it you can just delete it.

I don't think you should use the firewall 2 plugin though. That plugin is a bit outdated and I don't recommend using outdated plugins where the developer is not active.

The Bulletproof security is a good plugin too.

This plugin doesn't have a file monitoring feature just yet. It is something we are working on adding. We will only add it when we have worked out a good implementation for it.

Thanks for the reply but unlike other plugins where you can see if you "like" it or not, security plugins can only be measured by their effectiveness and that is much harder to evaluate unless the site is compromised in which case you know it didn't do a good job.

Yes, Firewall 2 is old and unsupported but based on the number of injection attacks it blocks I wouldn't be without it until I find a viable alternative. Does All In One WP Security & Firewall prevent injections in the same way as Firewall 2 does or does it rely on the htaccess control or the 5G blacklist?

    Thanks.
