All in One SEO: Still Not Getting Hits for Home Page (5 posts)

    Hi,

I'm a complete WP noob - my apologies if this question seems dumb.

I'm maintaining a WP website that someone else created, and I know just enough about WP to be dangerous to myself. I installed the All in One SEO plugin(v2.1.5), and went through several online tutorials to figure out how to configure it properly. It seems like a good plug-in, and was pretty easy to set up.

The problem is that it doesn't seem to be getting any hits for the website, which is http://www.tesseract-design.com.

If I do a search on "tesseract design" in Google, for example, the first hit is for my LinkedIn profile. I'll sometimes get an image hit for the logo, but no hits for the website pages. I've gone back and double-checked to make sure I had all of the proper fields filled out in the plugin, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Crawford,

Your site appears to be indexed by Google, type this into the search field in Google to see your site results:

    site:tesseract-design.com

Thanks very much for your response.

I did as you suggested and got hits for all of the pages on the site. Am I correct in interpreting this as meaning that the plugin is working and site is being indexed by Google, but Google's search algorithms just aren't behaving as I'd like them to?

    Thanks,
    Crawford

    Hi Crawford,

Yes, the plugin is working fine. However, it takes time and hard work to get ranked highly on Google. Google pays most attention to your content.

OK, that makes sense. Thanks very much for your help.
