All in One SEO affect old urls?

    Hi,
    Sorry if this is a stupid question. But does All in One seo plugin affect old urls? For example, I have over a thousand posts, will ALl in one change any old posts?

    Also, I thought I read somewhere that the newer versions of WP take care of canonicalization–is that true? Basically I just want to keep google from thinking I have duplicate posts or pages if I assign a post to more than one category.
