Hi! First off, I'm a dummy when it comes to html, css, all this, so bare with me.

I just created my website on WordPress and I'm trying to upload a free theme/template so the design is ready... But WordPress requires it to be .zip, and EVERY single theme or template (is there a difference?), is .css?

Here on wordpress.org even all the themes are .css, how do I put those kind of designs into my site in WordPress?

Howdy. Theme files, which are mostly made of CSS, HTML, JS, and PHP files are all packaged into files called ZIP files. Every theme you download on WordPress.org is packaged as a theme file (ZIP), which you then upload under Appearance → Themes. So think of a ZIP file as a big folder full of stuff (your theme's files), which you upload and let WordPress handle for you.
