• Hi, this is my first WP development. I’m having trouble figuring out where to put my ad code and how to adjust the location slightly. If I drop the ad code in ‘header right’ widget, it gets cutoff and moves my site header so that it’s no longer flush with my menu bar. I could use some suggestions on how to make the site header and banner ad fit better on this project.

    thanks,
    Andy

  • Hi Andy (killer name),

First off, I’d recommend creating a child theme, it will save you a lot of headaches in the future.

Second, I really like using firebug for these kind of css issues, as you’ll want to be modifying the style.css in your child theme most likely.

Oh, hi thanks for the reply. I forgot to clarify that I am using the News child theme in the Genesis framework. I am looking into firebug as we speak. Thanks for the tip. cheers.

Hi, thanks for your help with this. I have gotten the hang of firebug. Now I am wondering exactly how to edit a plugins css within WordPress. For example, I need to change the width and caption on the carousel. I have found how to do it within firebug but now not sure how to change it within the Plugin’s css file.

    Thanks!
