Hi, im having real difficulties in aligning my template with the post area. It is slightly off to the left, you can see this at

    http://www.culturedcarpbaits.co.uk

I just want the black content block to even and not off centre.

Please can someone help, Ive searched the forums and tried a few things but cant find the solution to my problem. I am working in a child theme.

If you've no plugin that lets you enter CSS, try looking in your header.php file.

I'm guessing when you say enter CSS your'e not talking about the style.css file? if so should i get a plug-in?

Yes, ideally all CSS changes should either be made in a Custom CSS Manager plugin or Child Theme style.css file.

I'm looking at the minus 4px style you have on that element and it's either being generated by a plugin (try deactivating plugins) or has been hard-coded into the header.php file.

ive been working in the child theme style.css file..

I have just deactived the font plug-in i had which has solved the problem with the black box - thank you! but i did lose the colour and font on the about page which reverted to original.. but, Ive reactivated the plugin based on remembering how it worked and i have re-aligned the box physically so i think its all solved! thank you very much for your help! stay posted as i have more questions but i realise i need to create a new thread!
